I recently, only last week, get shut down.I could not email my roster, and I don’t wantthat to happen to you. And I hope you don’t want thatto happen to you either. So we had to call in thebig guns, the big guns, email sell leader to save theday. And now I’m sharing with you what I learnedfrom them, the latest rules of email marketing so you don’tend up where I did. Email sell , no matter what people say, is still super strong, super potent, and I can’t live without it.I stimulate probably 85% off my income through email marketing.People come in, they connected with me throughsocial media, but then they don’t buy until theyactually get emails from me. And it’s the emails thatcause beings to click on something and then by so no matterwhat parties are saying, Do not, Do not, Do not dismissemail marketing. The two factors that you need to knowabout with email commerce that affect email sell. Numberone is knowing how to avoid content filters. Soyour emails make it to your customers inbox because youdon’t want to devote a assortment of duration creating an amazingemail. First of all, collecting and building this emaillist, which is a lot of time and workand energy, and then crafting a stately email and nothaving it be brought to an end in your subscribers email schedule or intheir inbox. So that’s number one.Knowing how to avoid those content filters. Number twois understanding email engagement management. So your readers open your emails and click on your connects Here’s somethings that you want to be monitoring. You wannabe looking at most. Email. Auto responders will enable youto look at 90, 60, 30, and 10 or 7 day tendencies. 30 period and 10 or 7 day tends are generally theones that you really want to focus in on and youmonitor, want to monitor bounce rate, complaint pace, openrate and clink pace. let’s talk about how doexcuse me how to avoid content filters, an increase deliverability, so deliverability or move charge. So whatis your bounce rate? So, first of all, your bouncerate should be … any leaping pace around or above 2% is going to be a red flag. So emails thatbounce are emails that don’t get to, introduced into yoursubscribers email folder in any folder so they don’t makeit in their regular inbox. They don’t make it totheir clutter folder or they’re Spam folder or their advertisings folder. They don’t get to your customers email address atall. So there are soft moves and softbalances can happen because your customers mailbox is full orover quota. Soft bouncings can happen because theemail message you’re sending is too large, and I’mgoing to talk about that and soft ricochets can happenbecause the recipients email server is down or offline. You know, that’s that’s usually a stroke. Thatdoesn’t happen all that often, but it can happen.Um, hard bounces happen when email can’t be delivered, delivered for a permanent reason like there’s a typo andI see this a lot. The report contains typos and email addresseswhere someone natures in.Instead of type in gmail.com, they type in G M I A L instead of G M A I L. So there’s a natural human error in the email addressor, you know something happens with the typo in theemail address. Then there are malevolent typo bunkers, andthese tend to be things like gmail scatter com scatter comAnd these are really coming from spammers. One bad email, that is a hard-boiled bounce can cause 50 spam complaintsto your inventory with that email provider. So if youhave one bad Gmail address, for example, you can getup to 50 spam objections to your roster from Gmail, which then means you’re going to end up with in troublewith Gmail. And that’s going to affectyour overall deliverability. It can affect your abilityto deliver your emails to anybody with a Gmail emailaddress. Um, and that’s just one example. Itcan happen with Yahoo or Outlook or Hotmail or whateverparticular service provider here i am. So having a highnumber of email address is on your list with hardbounces can be really dangerous to your overall roster ofdeliverability, hard-handed ricochets or more dangerous to yourlist of deliveryability than soft bounces. However, with recent tighten of restrictions, recent repressions list hygieneis more important than ever email providers like Gmail, like Hotmail, like Yahoo. Like Outlook. Um, they have algorithmsjust like social media platforms do, just like Facebook does, just like Linkedln does, just like Instagram does. They have algorithms, and they are trying to provideyou, us, those of us who receive email, which isjust about everybody on the planet that we are familiar, right. They’re trying to provide us with what they perceive tobe the best email experience. It’s the same thing everysocial media programme is do. So let’s take Gmail, for example. Gmail is trying to decide what email addressesyou do and don’t want to receive. now, they’re notall that great at that. So you’ll be surprised atthe number of emails that you actually do want toreceive that don’t be brought to an end in your email inbox. They mightend up in your spam folder. They might end up inyour junk folder or your advertisings folder, so you need toknow where this really is. They’re not all right there and visible. So and then, if there’s something that is showingup intent up in your spam folder, your junkmail folder, your advertisements folder that you is not wanttheir you want to be absolutely certain that you’re, um, recognizing it to your white index or you’re safe.Center list.Super important. A grumble proportion of 0.1% is considered to be acceptable per email. So a spikethat vanishes over that 0.1% on any one email can cause a warningsign with your autoresponder service provider. So here’sthe thing. Let’s say you’re using MailChimp or maybe you’re using Keap/ infusionsoft Or perhaps you’reusing ClickFunnels. Whoever your email service provider is, they need to keep their email reputation clean, so they’re incessantly observing all of their clients. Soif I got something that cases a huge spike in accusations, my email service provider, my autoresponder service provider, is going to crack down on me.Andthat’s exactly what happened. And I got my email shut down a weekago, and it and I didn’t. I was totally unaware thatI was doing anything quote unquote wrong. In fact, my email health rating is, I think it’s a 92% out of1 00 so I thoughts I was living on Easy Street. But I’mgoing to tell you some of the things that can cause this tohappen, and you are able to. For those of you who havebeen following me, you will see changes in myemails move forward because over the past 12 to 18 months, the email service providers the Gmail, the Hotmail, theYahoo Mail, the um Microsoft, which is Outlook mail. All of these service providers have been cracking down. They’ve been tightening up on the restrictions because it’snot unlike social media. There are billions of emailsthat go out every single day, and they need tobe really careful of spam that can grind them to a halt.So as they’ve cracked down the companies that arethe autoresponder companies like Aweber like mailchimp like keep infusion soft like ClickFunnels or singgrid, they have all had to crack down on their clientsso that, for example, Aweber’s overall deliverability an email state value doesn’t get really bad, because then Aweber would not be able to send emailsfor any of their customers. So let’s just hypotheticallysay that autoresponder company we’re just going to useAweber. This was not use that as anexample. Good-for-nothing negative about Aweber at all could beAweber “couldve been” MailChimp “couldve been” Infusionsoft/ Keap could be ClickFunnels, could be anybody. Butlet’s say that an autoresponder companionship has 1000 clients.Theyall have way, method more than that. But let’s justsay they have 1000 clients, and one of those patrons hada big roster, and they did something crazy that causedhuge um, hard-bitten ricochets or huge problems with spamfilters. That’s going to affect the ability forthat autoresponder fellowship to send out emails for allof their other patrons. So all the autorespondercompanies, “providers “, have had to crack down on theirusers. So you want to be careful of your objection pace, and that is when people unsubscribe and then hitthe complaint button or write a comment. That’s a complaint, so you need to have 1/10 of 1% or less interms of complaints. There are other things thatcan negatively affect your email deliverability. And theseare the things that got me! So number, one Whoknew, because these things have changed. It used to betotally okay. In fact, that used to be great to doall this substance. But the’s hit things have changed. Sodo not send links to YouTube videos or use the, uh, the share connection, um, in your email that intent up poppingup the email epitome. But even if you just have alink in there to YouTube video without any likenes, YouTubeand other social media platforms, whether it’s Facebook orLinkedIn or Pinterest or instagram or Twitter, they endup , not infrequently on junk mail lists. So no moreYouTube relations in emails, and the same holds true for Vimeoor Wistia. So the best practice is, if you need to senda link to a video. And I know not everybody cando this, but the best practice is; If you have awebsite or a blog, you leant the video on yourwebsite or your blog, and then you send a link tothat page on your blog or Your website. So perfectly, Positively, No talents in emails, GIFs. Iknow they’re charming. I know they’re amusing. I know they’re employing, but it’s the same problem as with other videos. And the problems with the problem with GIFs is that thefile sizes are quite large, and that’s going to really, really hurt your deliverability So don’t operation giftsin your emails. Okay, signature blocks. Um, ifyou choose to use an image in your signature block, whichI do and I’m going to continue to do it, it’sbest not to frame a associate behind it. So many of us, for a terribly, very long time have had our signature blocks, and there is a hyperlink behind the epitome to your website perhaps. Do not do that. That is causing big problems. And same thing is true for social media icons. Wewere all taught. This was just like even three years ago.Make sure you put your social media icons on thebottom of your emails and then link to your Facebookpage link to your LinkedIn profile link to yourPinterest uh, sheet or accounting link to your instagramaccount link to your Twitter account.Uh, large-scale, Big, Big No , no, because it’s a entire bunch of links. And again, the email service providers of this world, theGmails, the Yahoo Mail’s etcetera see that themore ties-in you have to various different websites, themore it looks like spam. So if I’m just going tosend an email to my sister in regulation, for example, I’m notgoing to go in and put the links to Facebook, myFacebook page and my LinkedIn profile, and my Twitteraccount, and my instagram report, and my whatever account. So what the email service providers are looking forare emails that look like they’re an email you’resending to your best friend or your sister in lawor your friend or whatever. So the more relations you havein there, the more all kinds of red flags go off asspam, promotional, and then you be brought to an end not gettingyour email to your customers. Okay? So remove all socialmedia icons. First of all, each icon you are familiar with, the little Facebook icon, that instagram icon, those likeness, and it’s gonna prepare the file size of your email much bigger. That’s gonna decrease your deliverability And on top of that, from a marketingpoint of view, um, they And on top of that, from a marketingpoint of view, um, they distract from the primary callto action, and they hurt your deliverability, as I’ve been saying, and we don’t want your preciousemails to end up in your prospects in your subscribersjunk waste folder Spam folder advertising folder.Okay, so images the fewer folder promotion folder. Okay, so images the fewer you use in an email, the better and the absolute maximum sizing of an image in anemail should be 100 to 200 kilobytes at most. So 100 to 200 KB at most. if you’re not sure how big-hearted your epitomes because it’s not about how large-scale the image was used in your email, it’sthe file size of your idol. So if you’re not sure howbig your email idols are, when you go to the imageon your hard drive in your scenes folder, for example, on your computer and you hover with your mouse overthe epitome, it goes to show you how big the file size is.So it’s the file size that’s important. So I think thisis one of the big, large-hearted places where I got caught. My the file size for my signature block was 3.5 megabytes, and it needed to be 100 200 to 100 kilobytes. So might the file sizes, for my images were huge. When you’rewriting your emails now, this is something in your emailservice providers. So it’s going to be differentin your autoresponder “providers “. So it’s goingto be different for everyone. But look for a toggleswitch somewhere in often it’s in the design area. Um, if you are a Keap or Infusionsoft user, it’s on theleft hand side, the very underside left side, uh, menubar. And there is a little toggle switch where youremail is either left vindicated or center apologized. Nowthat doesn’t I’m not talking about your text being centerjustified or left justified. It’s about the wholeemail either being altered over to the left side ofyour computer screen or being in the center of your computerscreen. So make sure that toggle is to the left. Now here’s the thing. This has changed recently because oneof the things I said well, that’s hurting deliverability. Why make they even have that toggle thingthere? Well, because all these changes are have happenedin the last 12 months or so. So theemail autoresponder service providers, we’ll see if they catch upor not. Okay, font sizes and shades. This is abiggie for me. I am totally guilty of this. So, um, keep your font black. With the exception of connections whichyou’re going Thio, they’re just going to naturally turn blue.Do not try to change the color of your links.I’m guilty of doing that all the time. no more! use the same font size. Do not use the differentheading sizes that are available in your autoresponder.Again, this is something that used to be okay, but with the crackdowns, they’re no longer okay. There’sstill there in most autoresponders that I’maware of. Do not use them. Just use the normalfont size. Um, again, Don’t use all ceilings in words.Do not use excess bold stressing our italics. I’mguilty of that. Um, these are all, theseall have the potential of justification your emails to end upin your customers’ garbage folders spam folder, advertising folder, which is not what we want.Because not onlydo your readers not get, um, but then it preserves kindof distinguishing, if you will, your your emails and themore of your emails that end up in your customers junkmail, spam spam folder or advertisements folder. The lower your deliverability frequency is, and thenthat’s going to affect your overall email list health scoreand then you’re going to end up with problems just like Idid. Okay, joins: having link to multiplesites or multiple links to different places in one emailis a big no , no large-hearted no no, which is anotherreason why you need to take your social media iconsout because there’s they’re all link to different places. So get those out of your emails right away and donot send a link to maybe download a free template, alead magnet and to your schedule calendar, whether it’s Calendly or any other calendar, is not do two different linksin the same email so you can send a link to yourcalendar but have that be a different email. Okay, so wherever possible, whenever possible, Only link toone place in an email and keep the number of linksto one or two and peak three. So let’s say Iwant to have a call to action to grab my 60 minutepower banking platform Here. I can have that call toaction one or two times maximum three, but three is pushingit. But the Only call to action I can have inthat email is to my 60 minute influence recruiting platform , notto my 60 minute influence banking program and my calendar.Okay, so personalization implementation personalization wherever possible. So that makes open your email with “Hi” andthen it’s first name of contact. That’s usually what you feel in, um, or use the first name, um, in thefirst one or two convicts, somehow or other. So, for example, if I were gonna send an email about this, I mightsay: “Have you ever wondered about how to improve youremail deliverability, First specified? ” Okay. And again, that ability to employed the first name field in is partof every autoresponder that I’m aware of. And it’s ifit’s not one of the purposes of the autoresponder that you’re using, thenyou need to find another autoresponder. So personalizationis critical. Okay, here’s another thing; Write conversationally. The contents of your email drivesits ability to get past the spam filters and intoyour subscribers inboxes. Here’s a big one. Thegurus noticed this and were like, Oh, large-scale no, no. Do not use the words Network marketing, network marketer, Network marketers, do not use anything about MLM, multilevel market. You know, it’s kind of like Facebook.Facebook doesn’t like us. And the email service providersYahoo, Gmail, Outlook. They don’t, Hotmail, Theydon’t like those terms either, so instead, you gotto use commands like networking without the marketing. Okay, um, and these email gurus said to me, these messages arered flags, maybe worse than working the word Covid. So whatever you do, we’re not supposed to use the word Covid in emails. That’s been a big spam alert. let’s talk about email openrates and what is acceptable. What are the norms. What the, uh, email service providers and the autoresponderservice providers are now looking for for health rates. So your median email open rate should be between 15 to 25%. And those of us who have bigger list that list is fairlyhigh. So it’s important to understand how this openrate is calculated in your email health tally. So let’ssay you have a schedule of 10, 000 lists and email addresses justto make it a delightful, round, easy digit. Soyou’ve got 10,000 mailing address. You send an email out tojust 1000 of those people two times this week. And let’ssay each one of those two emails has only one open rate of35% immense, excellent. And then three times this week, you send out an email to all 10,000 of those people, and each one of those emails has an open pace of ten% so they don’t say okay, 35 plus 35 and then 10, 3times. So the average divided by five. No , no , no, no , no. That would be nice. If that was the suit, my open frequencies would be astronomical. But that’s not how they doit. Instead, they say, Okay, you is sending out 1000 emails. You sent out 1000 emails. You sent out 10,000 emails. You sent out 10,000 emails the second time yousent out 10,000 emails a third season. So you sentout a total of 32,000 emails. You had an open charge of35% on the 1st 1000 you sent out. So “youve had” 350 parties open it. You had the same open frequency on the secondone. You sent out to 1000 beings. So you had 350 parties open it.And then you had a 10% open charge oneach of the 10,000. So that’s 1000 1000 1000 1000 So you sent out 32,000 emails. You had 3700 people openit. So your average email open charge is 8.6%. Not great.Okay, So, um, that’s really important to understandhow open charges duty. although it’s great to have an open proportion of 35% on those two smaller emails that you sent out, Um, because there’s such a small segment of your overall inventory, they’re not enough to impact the open.Sohere’s some things you were able to do and some recommendations. Segmentyour list by how recently people have engaged andagain your autoresponders. You might need to dosome burrowing to figure out where this is, but yourautoresponders often you are eligible to, uh, segment out bypeople who are engaged within the last 30 dates. The last 60 periods, the last 90 daylights, and over 90 epoches theymight have more segmentation, but that’s the those arethe three buckets I would recommend you do. Then yousend your regular broadcast emails, the ones that are goingout daily to the people who have engaged with you inthe last 30 periods and engaged means they actually openedyour email. They opened your email, Um, becauseyou can’t click on something if they haven’t opened the email. So merely having opened the email means they’ve engagedwith you. So you send out to people who’ve engagedin the last 30 epoches you send out your regular broadcastto them. Then merely transport emails 2 to 4 days amonth. Um, to people who have engaged in the last6 0 days and send emails to parties have engaged in the last9 0 days merely 1 to 2 eras a month.Send a reengagement email to people who haven’t engaged with you inuh, I would say 60 eras or more, um, and clearly give them the opportunity to opt out, becauseif parties aren’t interested in what you’re sending them, you don’t want them on your list. They’re going tohurt your deliverability big time, so you demand themto opt out much better now. There is some ninjaemail purveyors who email their inventory every day of theyear, and they remove beings from their email registers whohaven’t clicked on a connect. Not I’m not saying openedan email. They remove you from their email list.If you haven’t sounded on a attach in 30 daytimes, theyhave small-time email rolls, but they’re very powerful.Sothat that’s like ninja. I’m not going there, justtell you. But I’m telling you, these email professionals, these email gurus were telling me about this so again, create an email reengagement campaign. Highly recommend that, um, so three things that affect open charges. Oneis Do I was aware that the email is from? So I seeso many parties that have email addresses that are like TBC1 962 @gmail. com Well, who theythink is that? So you need to have your name or theyhave catlovercutie @hotmail. com Well, who theheck is cat fan Cutie? you need to have yourname somehow or other in your email address so that people knowwho the email is from.Okay, so number one is DoI know who the email is from? Number two is Does thesubject line grab my tending? So writing potent subjectlines is super important and number three isDoes the preview order grab my attention? Truly important! Okay, so let’s talk about email click throughrates. This is the final thing here. The clickthrough charge your norm clink through frequencies, so that’speople clicking on your links should be about 2.5%. Soyour ability to get your email to use subscribers inbox isthe very first thing that’s going to affect that.Because if you’re not even going your emails delivered, well, they can’t click on your tie-ups right, the secondthing is your ability to grab your readers tending withyour subject thread and your preview strand so thatthey actually open your email. And the third thing thataffects that is your ability to write locking contentand a compelling proposal which causes them to click. SoI hope you find the information collected supportive as always I will, um, answer any questions. I ever look at all thecomments, so satisfy feel free To put any questions in there, and I look forward to seeing you again soon ..
